Ebola in Antiquity?

ABSTRACT

An epidemic that occurred in Athens in 430 bce had clinical and epidemiologic features that resemble Ebola today. The historian Thucydides reminds us that society's panic-stricken responses to pestilences intensify the damage and devastation directly caused by the disease itself.
