ABSTRACT

Abstract Few texts have been devoted to the intracranial dural venous sinuses. The intracranial arterial system has received much more attention in the literature. Herein, we review the basilar plexus at the skull base. This intradural venous sinus that travels along the dorsal surface of the clivuscan be involved in basilar skull fractures, surgical approaches to the clivus, and dural arteriovenous fistulas. In this chapter, the detailed anatomy of this structure is reviewed.
