Social support, career beliefs, and career self-efficacy in determination of Taiwanese college athletes’ career development

Abstract The purpose of this study was to explore how social support, career beliefs, and career self-efficacy contribute to college athletes’ career development.551 college athletes were recruited as participants in the study. The data were statistically analyzed using structural equation modeling. The results indicated that career beliefs positively contributed to the prediction of career self-efficacy and career development. Social support positively contributed to the prediction of career beliefs and career self-efficacy. Career self-efficacy positively contributed to the prediction of career development. Furthermore, social support positively contributed to the prediction of career development through career beliefs, and career self-efficacy.
