ABSTRACT

Abstract Enzymes are biodegradable and eco-friendly. They are biological catalysts. They act in moderate conditions of temperature and pH. Hence, the energy consumption is reduced, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The enzyme processing requires a lesser amount of water and consequently minimizes waste generation during textile manufacturing. The enzymes are very specific in their actions and they generate minimum by-products. The risks to humans, wildlife, and environment by enzymes are lowest.
