ABSTRACT

Abstract Hydrazine has important applications in the field of medicine and chemical industry. However, hydrazine can cause environmental pollution and human injury. Hence, a new iminocoumarin based probe for hydrazine was reported. Hydrazine triggered tandem reaction lead to the formation of iminocoumarin. The inhibition of PET effect and the increase of coplanarity lead to the enhancement of fluorescence. The fluorescence intensity was proportional to the concentration of hydrazine (0.2–50.0 μM). The LOD of the probe for NH2NH2 was 0.051 μM (1.62 ppb). Moreover, the probe could accurately detect hydrazine in tap water. The probe had good cell membrane permeability and could detect hydrazine in biological cells.
