ABSTRACT

Highlights • Significant association of atherosclerosis and bone mineral density has been reported.• The association has been reported in postmenopausal women and elderly men.• This study reported the association in an international cohort of middle-aged men.• Coronary artery calcification was used as a biomarker of coronary atherosclerosis.• Vertebral bone density was used as a surrogate marker of bone mineral density.
