Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is a rare andaggressive skin cancer. Advanced disease portends a poor prognosis in most patients. We review the pathogenesis, clinical features, dermoscopic findings, differential diagnosis, workup, treatment modalities, and follow-up of MCC for dermatology nurses. It is important for nurses to be familiar with MCC to prevent delayed diagnosis.
