ABSTRACT

The beginning of COVID-19 pandemics was sudden and unexpected in terms of scale and symptoms, channels and territory of propagation in different countries. This article discusses the possible information theory contribution for analysing the waves of pandemics on the example of Bulgaria. Under conditions of uncertainty and non-sufficient statistics the simple and robust data-driven approach based on the concept of information entropy provides additional possibilities for analysing the dynamics of epidemic waves.
