ABSTRACT

Impulsiveness, typical of adolescence, is marked by an increase in risk behaviors, which may be associated with negative outcomes in life. To know standardized assessment tools for adolescents, a systematic review was conducted in studies that evaluated the relationship between impulsivity and risk behavior (sex at risk and use of illicit drugs and alcohol). The databases accessed were PsycINFO, Web of Science, SCOPUS and BVS-Psi from January 2006 to October 2018. We highlight the use of scales and inventories, a possible positive association between the constructs and a consensus regarding the fact that the initial period of adolescence is the time of the initial use of alcohol and drugs, as well as unprotected sex behavior. It was possible to outline the different ways of evaluating them, which can be useful for the practice of professionals working on this topic.
