ABSTRACT

different cells play an important role in the development and pro-gression of neuropathic pain caused by HZ. 8 Therefore, we propose the hypothesis that UVA1 phototherapy can inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators by acting on a variety of cells in the local area of HZ lesions, thus alleviating their damage to nerve fibers, relieving neuralgia and preventing PHN. Our case has shown promising results using UVA1 in treating acute inflammations and neuralgia of herpes zoster. But clinical stud-ies with more sample sizes are needed to further confirm the role of UVA1 phototherapy in the treatment of HZ, and the mechanism of its effect also needs further study.
