Effects of valproate on seizure-like activity in Drosophila melanogaster with a knockdown of Ube3a in different neuronal populations as a model of Angelman Syndrome

Highlights • Valproate reduced the number of seizures in flies exhibiting Angelman Syndrome.• Knockdown of Ube3a pan-neuronally resulted in significantly lower bang-sensitivity.• Ube3a knockdown in GABAergic neurons elicited more seizures than in glutamatergic neurons.
