Highlights • A rare case of primary mediastinal malignant meningioma was reported.• Gene sequencing and clonal evolution analysis can help to find suitable therapeutic targets.• FGF6 amplification mutation can promote the progression of malignant meningioma.• FGF6 gene amplification may be a target for using anlotinib.
