The effect of radiation dose to the brain on early self-reported cognitive function in brain and head-and-neck cancer patients

Highlights • Self-perceived cognitive decline after RT is important for brain and HN patients.• There is a dose–effect relationship with cognitive decline for brain structures.• Lower age, chemotherapy and higher baseline score are relevant parameters.• Brain mean dose > 3 Gy is related to cognitive deterioration.
