ABSTRACT

Many people are interested in how the social capital that private universities have affects their ability to work together on innovative projects. However, there is still not a lot of research that goes into detail on how this social capital in private universities affects collaborative innovation performance. This study starts with three dimensions: structure, relationship, and cognition. The paper then adds dynamic capability as a mediating variable and studies how social capital impacts the success of collaborative innovation between business and university research in private universities. It also looks at the part that dynamic capability plays as a mediating variable in this process. The results show that social capital in private universities helps improve the performance of industry-university research collaborative innovation. At the same time, the dynamic capabilities of private universities play a part in this process. This means that universities with more social capital can improve their dynamic capabilities more, which in turn improves the performance of industry-university research collaborative innovation. The research provides useful references for collaborative innovation and high-quality development management practices at private universities.
