ABSTRACT This study explores the induced effect of the dual pilot policy for supply chain innovation and application pilot cities and demonstration cities (DPP) on enterprises’ supply chain digitalization (SCD) using the Staggered DID method. Based on the data of Chinese A-share listed companies from 2015 to 2022, we reveal that DPP has significantly promoted SCD, the mechanism of which is to promote industrial upgrading and digital inclusive finance. The impact of DPP is heterogeneous. DPP primarily benefits high-tech, technology-intensive enterprises and those with lower supply chain concentration, as well as regions characterized by less marketized, higher digital attention, and lower innovation and entrepreneurship activity. Additionally, the single policies promote SCD, and a synergistic effect is exhibited by DPP. Our research provides a new perspective on SCD research, with practical contributions in offering empirical evidence to enhance the modern supply chain.
