Effective monitoring and management of forests are crucial for preserving ecosystem functions and ensuring the sustainability of natural resources. Monitoring should be carried out comprehensively, including species identification and stand density measurements to provide a clear picture of forest conditions. This study aims to identify the species and densities of forest stands in the Geumpang Protected Forest Area (PFA), Aceh. The research was conducted in Geumpang PFA, Pulolhoih Village, Pidie Regency, Aceh Province, using systematic sampling with a random start, with plots sized 20 x 20 meters and a distance of 100 meters between plots. A total of 33 plots were established, with dimensions of 20m x 20m for trees, 10m x 10m for poles, 5m x 5m for saplings, and 2m x 2m for seedlings. Data collected included stand species, species count, diameter at breast height (DBH), and height of the stands. The species data obtained were presented in tabular form, while stand density was analyzed using the equations from Mueller-Dombois and Ellenberg (1974). In the Geumpang PFA, Pulolhoih Village, 19 families and 27 species were identified across the four growth stages: seedlings, saplings, poles and trees. Stand density in the Geumpang PFA varied across each growth stage, with the highest density at the seedling stage (177.500 individuals/ha) and the lowest at the tree stage (5.000 individuals/ha).
