Environmental degradation caused by human activities is becoming increasingly alarming, prompting efforts to address this issue, including understanding human behavior. This study aims to re-evaluate the validity of the Indonesian version of the Environmentally Friendly Behavior (EFB) scale using the Rasch model, which is considered superior to the Classical Test Theory (CTT) approach used in its initial adaptation. A total of 279 students from universities in West Java and Jakarta became participants who filled out the instruments online. The Rasch analysis identified 7 items that met the principles of valid measurement. Compared to previous studies, this evaluation revealed significant differences influenced by analytical methods and sample characteristics. The internal structure of this scale can be better explained by the item hierarchy and the latent trait distribution of the sample. Along with the person reliability value (0.73) and strata (2.54) which are in the fair category, these findings highlight the importance of improving the accuracy and application of the EFB scale to measure pro-environmental behavior among students in Indonesia. This study is expected to contribute to improving the quality of environmental behavior research in Indonesia and offer recommendations for further development in the discussion section.
