ABSTRACT

The study aims to identify the influential factors forming learners’ continuance intention to embrace e-learning platforms in the post-pandemic era in Bangladesh. The study used behavioral data collected from 321 respondents, aged between 18 and 34, who were enrolled in twenty-two universities in Bangladesh when collecting data. A structured and self-administered questionnaire was developed adopting items published previously. An online survey link, designed to collect responses for a month, was shared on different social media platforms. The study found a positive significant impact of the variables: effort expectancy (EE), facilitating conditions (FC), and social influence (SI) on learners’ continuance intention (CI) to use e-learning. Conversely, the relationship between PE and CI was found to be insignificant. Furthermore, learners’ continuance intention to embrace e-learning significantly influenced the use behavior. Findings suggest that greater continuance intention to use e-learning depends on several aspects of facilitating conditions, i.e., infrastructure, educational content, network coverage, technical resources, training on technical and non-technical issues related to e-learning, stakeholder viewpoints, etc. The study contributes to the technology adoption theory, focusing on developing countries’ phenomena.
