Dwarf mistletoe-infected seedlings of ponderosa pine had shorter roots and less root volume than paired uninfected trees. These results suggest that infected seedlings in natural stands are at a competitive disadvantage for soil moisture and nutrients. Forest Sci. 18:323-324.
