Selfed slash pine (Pinus elliottii var. elliottii Engelm.) progenies provided reliable in-heritance information on rust susceptibility but not on survival or height growth. The self: wind survival ratios were about the same in the field as in the nursery for self-compatible progenies, but average inbreeding depression in height increased from 21 to 34 percent.
