This study explores the role of Dani women in managing local resources to improve family economic well-being in Jayawijaya Regency. Using a qualitative ethnographic approach with ten informants in the Baliem Valley, the research finds that Dani women are central to food security through sweet potato farming, pig raising, and noken weaving. Despite limited access to education and resources, their local wisdom holds strong economic potential. Empowerment strategies should focus on skill development, community-based enterprises, market access, and culturally respectful policies. Modernisation offers opportunities for micro-enterprise growth, supporting sustainable family welfare.
