ABSTRACT

There is now global interest in this health care model due to an increasing burden of disease across the globe, inequity in access to healthcare services, and a yearning for sustainable health systems capable of providing a home for varied populations. Universal Health Coverage (UHC), however, is an intricate issue requiring cautious consideration of several factors such as its economic feasibility, the healthcare infrastructure, and political will. This study aims to evaluate the long-term impact of UHC policies on health equity in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). In this research, qualitative research method is used and systematic research is conducted. In this research, 10 research papers are used and examined and based on those papers, key findings are derived. This research examines the impact and feasibility of UHC on an international scale, contributing to infrastructural, economic, and political issues and weighing the benefits it offers to health equity, healthcare access, and the overall population’s health. The results show that though accomplishing UHC at the international level is quite stimulating, it is worthwhile and possible if appropriate policies, strategies, and financial mechanisms are applied.
