The Load Margin (LM) of power systems indicates the maximum system load level that does not cause system instability. Most methods consider a single direction of load growth to calculate the Load Margin. However, different load growth directions can yield different LMs. This paper proposes an optimization model to identify the LM, considering a degree of variability in the load growth direction. The Birds of Prey-Based Optimization Algorithm is applied to the proposed optimization problem to identify the LM.
