Do sulfonylurea drugs increase the risk of cardiac events?

Sulfonylureas have been a mainstay for maintaining glucose control in type 2 diabetes. There is ample evidence that maintaining euglycemia decreases the risk of vascular disease in patients with type 2 diabetes; however, there is also evidence that sulfonylurea drugs may actually cause
