Satisfactory complement fixing antigens were prepared from strains of Boston exanthem viruses by the concentration of fluids from infected tissue cultures. CF antibody responses were readily demonstrated in patients infected with these agents. No definite antigenic differences were found between the viruses isolated from several exanthem disease patients, when the agents were studied by the complement fixation reaction. However, cross reactions to these exanthem virus antigens were observed on study of sera from patients with certain Coxsackie and certain heterologous ECHO virus infections.
