The concept of dimensional compatibility where the dimensions of expressions on both sides of an equation are consistent is presented as a useful principle for growth and yield models. A procedure for obtaining dimensional compatibility, called dimensional analysis, is presented as a tool for developing growth and yield models and is demonstrated in the context of two growth and yield modeling problems.
