ABSTRACT

The perplex-ing challenge of patient management for the clinician is re-flected in the observation that among breast cancer patientswith similar disease (based on traditional histopathologicalmeasures) and similar therapeutic strategy, some patientswill be cured (and thereafter live a normal lifespan) whereasothers will progress to premature death. In fact, we nowrecognize that breast cancer is tremendously complex in itsmolecular pathogenesis, natural history, and biology.
