Role of Agmatine on Neuroglia in Central Nervous System Injury

• The primary amine agmatine is neuroprotective after central nervous system (CNS) injury. • The agmatine downregulates the astrogliosis following the CNS injury. • Agmatine attenuates the detrimental effects of activated microglia in CNS injury. • Agmatine regulates the astrogliosis and microgliosis via modulating the bone morphogenic proteins expression.
