La nouvelle poussée capitaliste vers les ressources du Nord canadien a provoqué une réaction de défense de leurs droits territoriaux chez les autochtones habitant ces régions. La démonstration du bien-fondé et de la nature de ces droits dans le cadre des négociations avec les autorités fédérales et provinciales a suscité de nombreuses recherches portant en particulier sur l’occupation territoriale et l’exploitation des ressources fauniques. À la lumière d’une expérience d’anthropologie « impliquée », c’est-à-dire venant appuyer une démarche politique amérindienne, l’auteur conclut que l’anthropologue doit être plus conscient que par le
