As sucrose synthetase (UDP-glucose: D-fructose 2glucosyltransferase, EC 2.4.1.13) catalyzes the synthesis and cleavage of sucro,se [3], a study was undertaken to determine its role as regulatory enzyme. In the course of this investigation it was found that sucrose synthetase could be separated in two forms.
