Die Wellenlängen der Maxima dieser Banden wurden zu etwa 3980 Ä, 4240 Ä und 4480 Ä bestimmt. Im gleichen Jahr veröffentlichte M C C L U R E 2 Absorptionsbanden des Triplett-Triplett-Überganges bei Naphthalin in fester Phase (E.P.A.-Lösung). Seine Werte für den T T Ü b e r g a n g (4165 Ä und 3927 Ä) ließen vermuten, daß seine Absorption und die gefundene Emission dem gleichen Übergang angehören. Die Schwierigkeit eines Vergleiches zwischen der Emission in der Gasphase und Absorption in der festen Phase wurden später durch eine Arbeit von P O R T E R und W R I G H T 3 behoben. In dieser Arbeit sind die Maxima der Absorptionsbanden in der Gasphase für den T'Ubergang angegeben (Tab.
