Successful establishment of a reverse genetic system for QX-type infectious bronchitis virus and technical improvement of the rescue procedure

Highlights • A vaccinia virus-based IBV reverse genetics system was developed.• BHK21/N cells and ECE were used to improve rescue efficiency.• The improved rescue procedure is readily applicable to other IBVs.
