ABSTRACT

Topotoxy has been variously defined. Essentially it designates the mutual orientation of crystals of two different crystalline species, either difierent chemical compounds or pol;'rnorphic forms of one chemical composition, when this orientation is the result of a chemical or physical reaction. Phenomena of mutual orientation have long been studied from the crystallographic viewpoint more than from the paragenetic one
