B-lineage commitment is dependent on a reversible epigenetic switch

In this study, Tingvall-Gustafsson et al. describe the complex interplay between epigenetic events and transcription factor dosage that underlies B-cell lineage restriction in lymphoid progenitors. Dose reduction of B-cell-specifying transcription factors EBF1 and PAX5 or transcriptional derepression of T-lineage genes by EZH inhibition thereby supports lineage plasticity in B-cell progenitors.
