ABSTRACT

This paper describes a simulation project of the PID cross-limit and cascade control strategy, with the support of transfer functions integrating PLC Siemens S7-1512, MATLAB and InduSoft. The adopted concept is based on the advanced technique of cross-limit control with the purpose of maintaining the mixing ratio between 2 products in a system consisting of a total of 6 transfer functions. The control system was developed through a TIA Portal V16 simulator in the Siemens S7-1512 programmable logic controller interconnected to a remote station in the Profinet network connected to the transfer functions via OPC DA InduSoft. The method chosen to tune the simulator is Internal Model Control, highlighting specific performance criteria for each process variable. The project highlights the importance of solid theoretical knowledge of Laplace-domain transfer functions in closed-loop systems, which is essential to achieving effective control performance.
