Author's summary Elevated lipoprotein(a) (Lp[a]) is increasingly recognized as an independent cardiovascular risk factor, yet awareness, standardized measurement, and treatment strategies remain limited in Korea. This position paper from the Lipoprotein(a) Task Force of the Korean Society of Lipid and Atherosclerosis highlights unmet needs in screening, summarizes Korean epidemiologic and clinical evidence, and reviews current and emerging therapies. By contextualizing global advances within the Korean healthcare system, this work provides guidance for clinicians and underscores the need for future research and therapeutic development to reduce the burden of Lp(a)-related cardiovascular disease.
