The effect of diabetes and insulin on liver glycogen synthetase activation.

Abstract Alloxan diabetes results in a loss of activity of the liver glycogen synthetase-activating system. Insulin treatment of diabetic rats restores glycogen synthetase activation which suggests a direct hormone effect on the synthetase-activating enzyme.
